agamenon3 · review computeremuzone The game itself, is a substitute "low cost" of Barbarian, which we have to overcome, one by one, the four (literally) opponents (for more inri one of them repeated) that contains the game.
It is striking that although during the matches we can know at all times how much energy (life) our alter ego has thanks to the bar that appears on the screen, the same does not happen with our adversary, since his energy bar shines by his absence .
It should be noted that the differences between this program and Barbarian are abysmal.
To begin the program lacks a presentation screen or a menu of worthy options. And it is that the options offered to us start and end in the possibility of choosing to play well with a keyboard with joystick, with what, needless to say, that of playing against a human opponent or of regulating the level of difficulty , we do not speak (level of difficulty, on the other hand, negligible).
Also, at stake, everything is scarce. Aspects such as the existence of a single stage or that of only four different sprites, which are also endowed with insufficient animation tables, corroborate this.
If we add to all this the short duration of the program (just a little patience and an adequate use of the shield in just over 10 minutillos "ventilarnos" to all our rivals) and the brief repertoire of blows and movements of which this endowed our alter ego gladiadoril (which is summarized in 5: advance, back, high thrust, low thrust and use of the shield), well ... little remains to be said ...
RATING
- GRAPHICS / ANIMATION: The graphics are exclusively CGA. The use of color, within what fits, is correct. The graphic definition, without being bad at all, is not very convincing. In addition, as we mentioned before, the graphic set is tremendously raucous (a single scenario and four different characters (our hero, the lions (identical) and the two gladiators (of which, the second one turns out to be a "customized" version of our "prota")).
As for the animations mention that very natural, very natural ... they are not. Now, broadly speaking, it can be said that they fulfill their purpose.
- SOUND: Horrible. Pítiditos taking the form of effects and more little bites taking the form of a final melody ...
- PLAYING / ADDICTION: Our character is allowed to control fairly well, although sometimes react something late to our orders. The pace of the fighting is somewhat slow. All in all, the worst is the little difficulty that the program shows. So, in a couple of games (or perhaps earlier) we can conclude the program without disheveled.
CONCLUSION
Gladiator is another of these "fast food" programs made with as little budget as time for publication in kiosks. It lacks basic aspects present in any commercial program that boasts, it is scarce and also (bad combination) very easy.
All in all, the subject matter covered is interesting and while it lasts (which is little) it can capture your interest ... as long as you are not very demanding at a technical level, at a playable level, at a level ... XD.
