In the style of other titles by prolific Ángel García Delgado such as Tortugas Pijas or Transmuter 2, Desafío Final is also a series B substitute for a successful film of the time.

In this case the chosen one was "Total Challenge" (Total Recall). In fact, the image of Schwarzenegger that appears in both the main menu and the scoreboard during the game belongs to this movie.

On the other hand, posts to copy things, both the game system and the presentation on the screen of the levels (large sprites, visible only to the waist) are very reminiscent of Ocean's conversion in 1989 of another Schwarzenegger film, Red Heat. Although it is also fair to say that our character has a greater variety of movements than in that title (we can shoot, jump, punch and kick).

The game itself consists of 5 levels, which we face with a limited amount of ammunition. To complete each level, at the end of it, we will have to deal with a "little creature" who acts as the final boss. In all the levels the same creature is repeated as the final enemy, although as we advance it will be more complicated to defeat it. On the other hand, to mention that at the moment of the confrontation against the creature, the perspective to be frontal, having a vision of our protagonist from behind (in the style of Cabal or Dynamite Duke).

As for the levels themselves, say that the decoration changes in each level, and new adversaries are incorporated in each phase. Now, with regard to the funds, we must mention that they are composed of a single image that is repeated over and over again until the end of the level. This reminds me very much of what happened in classic animation series such as The Flintstones, in which they chose to mount the animations on scenarios that were repeated cyclically in order to lower costs.

Also mention that the routine of appearance of enemies on the screen is improvable because in some levels (the first without going any further), we spent a good distance without anyone appearing, to suddenly appear followed by a number of enemies.

TECHNICAL ASPECT

 - GRAPHICS: The characters are generous in size and the backgrounds are constructed based on digitized images ... well, as we have already mentioned, based on a digitized image that does not stop repeating itself. However, the resolution is acceptable at all times.

 - ANIMATION: The screen scroll is normal, but compliant. The same thing happens to the animations of the characters, they are well resolved, but without highlighting.

 - SOUND: Little thing, a few noises from the internal speaker and that's it.

 - GAMBLING: The degree of difficulty is progressive as well as affordable. The control of the character is easy. The ambience of the game manages to awaken a minimum of interest to advance to the end. Besides, it is not a very long game, which makes our expectations of keeping it always high.

In short, it is clear that we are facing a series B title exclusively sold in kiosks built on the basis of various plagiarism, I think that, unlike other titles of the author, Final Challenge meets the minimum requirements, showing an appearance acceptable and being fairly entertaining.
