I wanted to comment this game for years, but for one reason or another I couldn't run it (I was thinking it was for Windows, but had not success, and the same with DOSBox), so I couldn't play it for nine years.
I do not know if it was because I had run it previously in earlier versions, but today it has worked perfectly in DOSBox (so you know, use it).
Its author, Rob, was a regular at the old CEZ IRC channel (chat), and spent many afternoons and evenings chatting in in the earlier moments of our page.
If I remember correctly, Asteroids PC is made with a language for making games called Div. Robe was experimenting with it, and decided that a clon of the very well-known Asteroids would be the perfect to test it.
The result is not professional, but it catches perfectly the addiction of the Atari original. It mix vector graphics with some drawn (or digitized) shots, and has an interesting music (sure digital), wich I don't know if it's original.
The ship effects are very well made, and it moves softly, resulting in a great playability.
You will spend a good time with it.
