FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I send you games?
My friend, don't ask if you can, you're forced to do it! My little joke, being serious, if you have any spanish game or any version of a game you haven't seen in our web, don't have a doubt, let us know about it. Well, send us a mail telling the game you got and you'd like to add to cez big collection, why you have to ask before? Quite simple, perhaps we have the game but didn't have time enough to upload it. When you send us a game that we haven't got, It will be added to our collection inmediatelly and you'll see your name placed in its game card.
Where are the games?
By clicking on the games section of the header menu you can access the different options: all (general list), commercials, amateurs, "tops" (most voted, last cards added, last modified and top downloads), best rated, more downloaded, etc.
In the right menu, on the other hand, you have the possibility to access more specific lists: by letter, company, year, etc.
You can also do a search of the game you want in our search engine.
How can I run the games? Where are the emulators?
If you have the original computer (usually a PC or Mac, though maybe you're sailing trhough the internet using an Amiga), you'll only have to download the required files for the game you like and carry it out. If you don't have the computer for which the game was programmed, you'll need an emulator.... Emulators are in their corresponding zones, i.e: spectrum emulators are in the Spectrum zone and the same with others, and also they are in the CEZ's emus section. All the emulators usually have a "how to use" file within them.
What's about the main page right column? And the games one?
In this table (only available in CEZ) you can see: in the first of the columns, the computer in question. In the second one, the number of games avaliable. In the third one the number of cards avaliable for that particular computer´s games. In the fourth one, the number of emulators for that system and lately.
In the following table (available in both CEZ and Zones) you have a description of all the extras: games, reviews, manuals, maps, etc.
You can click every one and you'll have a list of all the cards containing the requested extra.
What to do to see the cards or to download any of the games?
To see the cards, what you have to do is just go to the page in which the game you are interested in is placed and click on the game's name, if it's underlined. If it isn't means that game doesn't have a card yet.
In what downloads are refered to, click on the version of the game you are interested in (if it's highlighted, if it isn't means that game exists, but it's not been still uploaded to the page) or you can download them from the cards sections.
Can I take part in Computer Emuzone?
Of course, with no doubt just send us a mail with your reviews, maps or solutions of your favourite game and we´ll paste it beside your name in the game's page, of course after make up our minds if your job deserves to be published, we´re sure it will be really good.
How to read the games sections?
Highlighted games have a card. Following this, the company's name, the year in which the first version was released, whether there is a coverscan, manual, magazine review, solution or map, available versions you can find here. If the name of a determined computer is not beside it, that game wasn't developed for that computer. If the name of the computer appears without a link (SP - Spectrum; AMS - Amstrad CPC; C64 - Commodore; ST - Atari ST; AG - Amiga; etc.), it exists but it's unavaliable at the moment; if it appears red coloured it means distribution is not allowed. If you find it highlighted, download it out of problems. These are the instructions for the general use of this page but, of course, there are some modifications to these rules in the search page or the preferred games pages.
What was Computer Emuzone Games Studio (CEZ GS)?Computer Emuzone Games Studio (CEZ GS) was a new software label, oriented to the old computers, but also to the actual ones. Under the auspice and experience of Computer Emuzone, was born with two clear objectives: by a side to help the new creatives of our country; on the other hand, to revitalize the scene of the historical computers of 8 and 16 bits, although other systems like GP2X had their place here. All without profit spirit, of course. However, "deLuxe" editions of some games could be acquired, although they had always a free version available for download.

Instructions for loading games from MSX-BasicMSX-Basic has some instructions that let us load the programs. But before we've to see wich files are forming it. These files usually are:
a) A 'loader' program, usually in Basic, that gives instructions to the computer to load the files that form the game. Its extension usually is .BAS
b) The loading screen, that uses to be a drawing with the game protagonists.
c) The game files, whose really content all the data game. They use to have the .BIN extension.
For seeing this files you must type Basic FILES instruction.
When it appears the Ok message we put, in order to load, the LOAD instruction as it is in the screen; we always have to look for the 'loader' program, wiche uses to have the game name. After that, we can type LIST to see the loader content. When we want to run the game, we must type RUN.
Another way to load a game is typing RUN"game_name.extension", that makes the game load without seeing the loader content.
Commands for loading games from MSX-DOSMSX-DOS is an operative system based in MSX commands, and its, as its name say, a MS-DOS for MSX, so we use it well. We can see disk drives, delete files, navigate directories, etc.
This system is composed by two files, MSX.SYS and COMMAND.COM. To load COMMAND.COM we must reset the emu with the game loaded (the DSK) and it'll appear MSX-DOS screen. The commands used to load games are the easiest: DIR to show files and directories and, if it's necessary, CD command to enter folders in the DSK.
When we have located the game, that uses to be a file with the name of the game and the extension .COM or .BAT, we only have to type the game name and press ENTER to run the game. Games in CEZ that use this system are The Last Mission and Livingstone Supongo.
For going out to basic from MSX-DOS you must type BASIC and press ENTER; to return MSX-DOS you must type CALL SYSTEM -only if you have started the emu (or computer) with MSX-DOS previously-.
What's a DSK?
DSK or disk image is a file that works as a floppy disk for the emulators. There are programas that can manage DSK as a normal floppy, recording, deleting, copying or pasting files in them. Moreover, with an emulator we can, i.e., make a program in Basic and save it in a DSK, or modify a Basic program and save it again. If we save with a previous existing file name in the DSK, we'll overwrite it and we'll lost the previous. It's good, if the emu offers us the possibility, to protect DSKs in order to disable that possibility.
Acual emulators, like the most popular BlueMSX, recognize ZIP files, so most of you won't ever see a DSK file.
How to run automatically a game when we start an emulator?
If a MSX disk has a file called Autoexec.bat or Autoexec.bas, the computer will detect it and will execute its content. If it's called Autoexec.bat it must be accompanied by COMMAND.COM and MSX.SYS, because it'll have instructions for execute programs from MSX-DOS. Autoexec.bas is easy to make: you must introduce the game that doesn't run automatically in the drive (DSK archive in the emulator). Then we seek the loader program and type NEW; then press ENTER. After that we write the following line:
10 load"loader_program_name.BAS",R
Then we save it in the DSK like this: SAVE"AUTOEXEC.BAS". Then we type FILES and test that we've saved the program. Then reset the emulator and the program will run automatically.
Editing DSKs with DISKMANAGER programIf we want to copy several games in a DSK and make a program that executes itself whe we run the emu or computer, DiskManager is so useful. It'll be useful to extract files and convert it to sound too. We can also use DISMANAGER to save files of a DSK to a real floppy disk for MSX and play the games in a real MSX.
That's the way we must use the program:
Clicking File with the mouse and clicking Open it appears a typical Windows window that offer us the possibility of seeking the DSK we want to edit and open it. When we've found it we must click Open and we'll see the files contained with they details in the Dis-Manager window.
Now we can select the files we want to extract, and we can do it using different ways, I mean, if we press SHIFT or CTRL when we click we can select several files. After that we click Edit and Extract File. The save window will appear and we'll save in the folder we want.
We can repeat with all the games we want. After that, clicking in File and New, a new window will appear. We must select the default content, accept and then we'll see the window clear. Then we must click Edit and Add File, and then we'll add all the games we want (until 720Kb). Then, if we write a Basic program that offers us load the game we want (we can do it with an emulator) we'll have the DSK full (take note that DSK use to be of 720Kb and the game doesn't use to be more than 120Kb, so the rest of the DSK is missed in your hard disk).
What's an emulator?An
emulator is a program that imits the graphic presentation, sound and the processing data behavioral of a computer in other one. Of course, the computer that runs the emulador must be more powerful (a lot more) than the original.
Emulators should base they operation in the original ROMs, so it's crucial to have them in the folder or directory indicated for them in the emu.
