The Eight bits golden age is back in CEZ!

ivanzx · 07-11-2006
As you already know, in CEZ we enjoy the privilege of having Borrocop (Alfonso Fernandez Borro) in our forums, one of the top graphic designers of Topo Soft, who shares his knolewdge, stories, memories and advices with us. But now we also can be proud of the presence of Jonathan Smith "Joffa", author of some of the best games ever for the Zx Spectrum, as "Cobra", "Hysteria" "Green Beret", "Batman the Caped Crusader"...he is showing us his last creation, a game called Saucer. You can see everything in the forums.

As you can see, the retro scene is really really on fire! and you can check it out here in Computer Emuzone.

We're alive

karnevi · 15-10-2006

Our last update was a month and a half ago, so we have to say a collective "our fault" out loud.

CEZ has been growing progressively since its beginning, more than 7 years ago. We have had months with a lot of activity, some others with less, and that, obviously, affects the number and periodicity of the uploads. The main reason is our real life, which usually demands a lot of our time and preferences.

Even though, we are not dead, Don't even think about it : We are preparing some changes in the site to make everything easier and to let more information get to you (That's why we have stopped adding new game cards these last two years), we keep writing new games (stay tuned), and, most of all, we keep participating in the forums, where you will be able to see (although it doesn't seem at first sight) that we are doing a lot of stuff, preparing new surprises, and sharing opinions, memories and projects. So we invite you all to participate in our forums, where you can find really friendly and interesting people, who love the 8 and 16 bits computers.

Meet with Alfonso F. Borro

Karnevi · 21-06-2005

Our second news article is a complement of one of the most complete interviews we've done: the one with Alfonso Fdez. Borro.
In this occasion, Alfonso met with a representative retrofans group, in order to show them some of his better kept secrets.
Pay attention, coz when you'll read the article, you'll discover on of the most ambitious projects of CEZ Games Studio. And I can't tell you more .

Interview with A.F. Borro (graphic designer)

Karnevi · 07-05-2005
Alfonso (Borrocop in the scene) is a frequent visitor and forum poster of our page since one or two months. He was graphic designer of one of the most important Spanish companies of the 80', Topo soft (distributed outside Spain by U.S. Gold). Excited by the existent activity, he answered our long questionnaire so kindly - we are thankful to him from these lines -, providing an enormous amount to us of data.
You can access the interview clicking here (please note that the interview is in Spanish, so we recommend you to use a web translator).

New CEZ section: articles

Karnevi · 15-04-2005

We've added a new section to CEZ (Computer Emuzone). We've been thinking about for some time, but now, with the celebration of a conference about Spanish videogames at Zaragoza with the asistence of some famous spanish programmers, we've decided that this section must be an articles zone.

You must use a web translator to read the articles, coz we'll write them only in Spanish due to the lack of time, but we hope it won't be a great inconvenient for you.

Now enjoy with this first article, wrote by Deivid and Anjuel.

Server change (pay host)

Karnevi · 29-04-2004
After a lot of time (about 4 years, if my memory serves me right), the moment has arrived for the server change: Metropoli2000/Metropoliglobal (our actual host) has died.
Most veteran of you will remember the problems it gave us, in spite of the good will of its administrators... Downloads qeues, lots of ads, continuous falls... That they caused, in more than an occasion, we seriously thought to change of server, although we never decided to do.

Lately the events have hurried, and also thanks to it we were able to be during months without abusive ads and with uploads working at 100%.

Although in the last months arrived supplies to us from other free servers, we have decided to try the adventure of the payment server, paying for it we ourself without depending on anybody, which also has its advantages but many disadvantages.
Calm, we are not going to request you donations nor nothing of the sort, but it's certain that we won't allow destructive critics by a service that we rendered to you without demanding contraprestación. Tolerance 0, as I said in some occasion, with that type of critics.

We'll inform you, but I notice to you that in the next days (around day 1st May), it will be some cuts in the service due to the server change.

We hope the change is for better. Goodbye and thanks, M2K, for these unforgettable years.
