Story

In the Badajoz jungle lives Cheril, a common girl, just like every other girl of her age. She eats cucumbers, hunts panthers with her bare teeth, flys around using hanging vines and dresses with suggestive animal furs. Nothing out of the blue. But Cheril, niece in second degree of Tartan, the scottish of the apes, has higher expectations. She’s fed up with Eleuterio, the ever serious monkey, which condemns her explosions of crazy and espontaneous youthness, with the lewd stares from Mondongo the aborigin and his cousin Mojinganga, and with those damned snakes which ambush her from behind every bush in the jungle. She want’s something better. She’s decided to go to the city and become part of the “beautiful people”, just like her ancestor Tarzán of the Apes, which went to London and wore a nice Tuxedo.

In fact, Cheril may leave whenever she’s arsed to go, but the journey is long: thirteen days on foot, so she needs to provide herself with enough food. She estimates that a giant nut a day will suffice, so that means that she needs to collect thirteen giant nuts before leaving. Go for it!


The Game

Control Cheril accross the jungle looking for giant nuts. When you manage to collect thirteen of them, the game will end and you’ll win. In already visited screens, a tasteful roasted chicken may appear, and it will help you to recover some life points, which you’ll lose when you hit an enemy, a ball of spikes, poisonous shrooms or carnivorous plants.

Some places in the game map are closed at the beginning of your adventure. The ancient tribe of the Bahunos Montunos built enormous stone gates which can only be open using special keys scattered around the jungle. Another spots will be blocked by red boxes which Eleuterio brought when he moved to this jungle. You can push those boxes out of your way provided there’s nothing which blocks them. Don’t worry if you fail and block your path even more: you just have to exit the screen and, when you come back, the boxes will be placed on their original positions… That’s the magic of video games!


Controls

O: Izquierda / Left
P: Derecha / Right
Q: Arriba / Up
A: Abajo / Down
SPACE+O,P,Q or A: Empujar caja roja / Push red box.


Loading instructions

Spectrum:

For 48K models just type in LOAD “” and press ENTER, then PLAY on tape. The game will load automaticly (unless it fails miserably, in which case you’ll have to start over again).

For 128K moderls, switch to 48 BASIC, and then follow the instructions for the 48K models.

Amstrad CPC:

Disk version: put the disk in drive A: and type RUN”CHERIL then press ENTER.
Tape version: enter the tape, type RUN”, press enter, press PLAY, then ENTER again.


FX Tom-Cat on hollidays

This game can be controlled natively using the keyboard, the Joystick Kempston, and, for the first time ever in a game by the Mojon Twins, with Sinclair Interface II (connected to port #1), so Tom-Cat won’t have to work out a hacked version anymore ;)


FX Just cooked!

This game’s development has been so fast that we offer you this game just cooked! That’s why the paint we used on the menu screen logo wasn’t dry yet so it fell off quite a bit. In the next game we’ll use a better brand of paint.
