Aaaaaaeeeeeaaaaaiiiiii! Ungawa, my friends. Tarzan here, telling you all about the new game from Alligata.

Urgh! Gerrof! This is my bit. Go back to your own game. That's better. Now, if you stayed awake during history, you'd know about the epic trek that a journalist by the name of Stanley went on, looking for Dr Livingstone in the darkest reaches of the African jungle (um bongo!) A trek which ended with a bedraggled Stanley wandering up to a total stranger and saying "Dr Livingstone, I presume?" (To which the stranger probably replied, "No I'm Reg Jones, and this is my wife, Edith...") However, according to Alligata, Stanley had a bit of trouble getting to Livingstone, and this is the true story of what happened...

You, being Stanley, have to travel through sixty-three extremely hard screens to find Livingstone, dodging pygmies, alligators, man eating plants, monkeys, snakes and piranha bats (yes, it's true). Also there are some dotty old white settlers who'll shoot at you on sight, and some very nasty quicksand, plus this pain-in-the-neck bird who, if he catches you, kidnaps you and dumps you into his nest. And once you walk out of his nest, you're back at the beginning of the game again, so avoid him like the plague.

However, you are not unarmed. You have a boomerang which, if you use it correctly, will curve upwards and bop any annoying creature on the upper level, and comes in useful when you fall into underground caves, 'cos a quick flick will free the doors. Then there's a dagger to throw and a grenade to lob, plus a terribly useful pole. Why a pole? Well, when you get into places you can't get out of, you pole vault your way free! Simple, innit?

The game reminded me very much of Sir Fred, one that I was addicted to last year. It's fairly hard to play, but Alligata has given you an infinite lives cheat and a map of the first four levels, so you can't go far wrong. It's worth a look.

Mercenario a sueldo desde que tiene uso de razón, nuestro protagonista se va a enfrentar con la difícil tarea de encontrar en la jungla al desaparecido doctor Livingstone. Tendrá que atravesar la selva, plagada de plantas carnívoras, serpientes venenosas y demás bichos; por si esto fuera poco, se enfrentará con los indígenas para recuperar los diamantes de la diosa de la danza; sólo entonces podrá plantearse en serio encontrar al desconsiderado excursionista. La diosa desatará su ira contra ti si no llevas contigo los diamantes, pero si está satisfecha te deleitará con el más sugestivo de los bailes, te dará ánimos para continuar.

No pretendo desvelaros las agradables sorpresas que se esconden en las diferentes pantallas. Sólo os diré que la ambientación es perfecta, pasaréis de la jungla a la mina como si frente a programas diferentes estuvierais.

Esta aventura de la nueva compañía Opera Soft aparecerá a la venta a mediados de noviembre. Reúne todas las características de un buen programa: admirables gráficos, agilidad en el movimiento, imaginación y un etcétera muy largo.

Hasta los más adictos viciosos del disparo están de suerte: además de encontrar a Livingstones, nuestro héroe tiene gran interés en encabezar la lista de los 10 mejores tiradores del mundo: para ello toma buena nota de cuantos seres extraños caen fulminados a su paso; ahora, tener en cuenta que la puntuación varía según la peligrosidad del atacante.

Nuestro protagonista no conoce la derrota: se ha lanzado a la aventura con la moral muy alta y cargado con lo imprescindible, un puñal, una pértiga, granadas y un boumerang. Ante todo ser prudentes, la selva es un elemento desconocido, sus entrañas encierran peligros desconocidos.

Necesitaréis algo más que habilidad para sortear los obstáculos que se crucen en vuestro camino. Sobre todo necesitaréis paciencia porque la complicación del juego os exigirá una gran precisión en los saltos.

Esta compañía ha apostado por la calidad, pronto competirá con las grandes compañías extranjeras. El programa que nos recuerda en parte al también español Sir Fred, ofrece los mismos ingredientes que hicieron de este programa uno de los de mayor venta en los mercados internacionales. Aplaudimos la iniciativa, la calidad siempre es bien recibida.
