Dreamin' Bits had already shown us what it was capable of three years earlier, with Chris Odd Prelude, a technically fascinating game that achieved fourth place in the 2017 CPCRetrodev.
Three years later they tried again, with the game we are dealing with today, taking first place in the competition... And quite rightly so.
'The Abduction of Oscar Z' is a true sensorial marvel, a delight that takes CPC to show us everything it is capable, with wonderful graphics, music that is not far behind and, above all, animations that have left me speechless with how good they are.
The downside is that the game is short, which was already the case with its previous release, although they have managed to extend it: two minutes of presentation and about ten to fifteen minutes of gameplay. From my technical ignorance, I imagine that such an audiovisual display did not leave much memory for more.
It can be said that this is one of the great games created for the Amstrad CPC in the post-commercial era. Given the difference in available media, it would not be entirely fair to make an overall ranking, but if it were so, it would not be out of place in the Olympus... Yes, despite its length.
