In La Cueva del Dragon (The Cave of the Dragon in English) we put ourselves in the skin of a courageous knight who has set out to recover all the treasures that a greedy dragon, which Smaug anyone, has been stealing and collecting in his lair.

The cave of the dragon is a clear precursor of Sword Fight and sequel, games of identical mechanics, published several years later by the same publishing house, already with the name of Ediciones Mago.

The game method is very simple. We control our knight on a fixed screen, in which both the left and the right appear a series of creatures that try to end our lives.

   Our goal is to shoot down, brandishing our sword right and left, all those beings.

After a certain time, these enemies stop appearing, at which point an indicator appears on the screen that warns us that we can now access the next screen.

As usual in this type of games, as we go forward, we are falling victim to the attack of a greater number of creatures. Creatures that in turn are evolving much faster on the screen.

Once we reach the dragon's lair, we must move towards it in order to strike a series of accurate swords.

TECHNICAL ASPECT

- GRAPHICS: The graphic finish of this game is totally amateur. The backgrounds, made with simple strokes and low resolution, seem taken from some conversational adventure unprofessional Amstrad CPC of the mid-80s. As for the characters are fairly achieved, as the skulls or even the dragon and other embarrassing, as our character

- ANIMATION: This section is very, very simple, although it is true that just as the game is raised, it is not that much more is necessary. Our character can walk left and right, hit swords and bend over. The creatures, except for the bees, do not have animation pictures, they simply slide towards our position.

- SOUND: Similar to the rest of Manali Edition games. The program offers a simulation (not deferred :)) of melody in the main menu plus a few noises during the development of the action. All reproduced by the internal speaker.

- PLAYING: Despite all its shortcomings in the other facets, at least we must recognize that, thanks in part to its extreme simplicity, The dragon cave is an entertaining game... At least while it lasts. And is that, although the level of difficulty is increasing, it is not high enough to counteract the short duration of the game, which, most likely, after a few games we will end without too many burdens. In fact, the duration of the game barely reaches 4 minutes.

Concluding, we can say that La Cueva del Dragon is a relatively fun program but that is seriously damaged by a very poor technical section, almost amateur, and a shortage of alarming levels. Pity.
