Spirits DS is a remake for Nintendo DS of the Topo Soft classic. The objective of the project, say its authors, was to maintain the spirit of the original, but adapted to the possibilities of the Nintendo console. In addition, the launch of this remake coincided with the 25th anniversary of the original game and count on the support of its team during its development.

On the game page, Nightfox explains how the game experience adapts to the two characteristic screens of DS. On the upper screen our character is shown and is where the action takes place. At the bottom, we will see where the next objective or object to achieve is. When we start, we will only see where the crystal ball is, the main and indispensable object, without which the other objects and characters remain hidden from our eyes. Once the crystal ball is obtained, these objects will no longer be invisible in the castle and we can recover them. In addition, with the crystal ball in our possession, we can locate the rest of the targets.

In addition to the new graphics, you can play with those of the original version of MSX, to satisfy the most non-static.

Improvements have also been included, such as a minimum or the possibility of selecting the language.

The experience is worth it if you have the console and a flash card (or an emulator in its default). Whenever we talk about a remake, I think that the ideal would be to have pixel art graphics, because the necessary evolutions are introduced without losing the old style. This is not the case, but that will not be an impediment to fun.
