On August 3, 1999, Spectrum Zone, the predecessor of Computer Emuzone [CEZ], was launched. So, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, and it is worth saying so, even though we have not been able to prepare anything special. We will continue here as long as we can. Thanks for everything!

With this Latinism that literally means “Go back. Go back ”, the guys from Retroworks named this game that they released in 2015 for the Spectrum 48k and 128k. One would only have to add "Satan" to complete the expression that has been used in exorcism ceremonies since medieval times.

Talking about this studio is always talking about a high level and good work, and Vade Retro is a good example of how to transport us to the typical platform games of the 80s, taking advantage of the limitations of Spectrum machines quite well. In it, we will accompany our knight Eshur, until he completes his sword and ends the evil Delcram, crossing dangerous forests, collecting objects and facing all kinds of dangers in a title that perfectly achieves a balance between playability and difficulty and in essence, very Inspired by the mythical Camelot Warriors, but easier and with more fluidity and quality. The difference between the two loads is limited only to the musical section that appears at the beginning and at the end if we load in a 128k, because in the graphic section, both maintain their genuine and charming mix of colors in the pixels.

In short, a correct and splendid game within the homebrew movement, made with great talent and love. Long live 8 bits and “Vade Retro Satanas”.
