On August 3, 1999, Spectrum Zone, the predecessor of Computer Emuzone [CEZ], was launched. So, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, and it is worth saying so, even though we have not been able to prepare anything special. We will continue here as long as we can. Thanks for everything!

'Knightmare' is a legendary Konami game for MSX, published in 1986. Legendary like almost everything the Japanese company published for the well-known 8-bit standard.
You control Popolon, a knight whose mission is to defeat Hudnos and rescue Aphrodite, for which he must go through several levels full of the most varied enemies.
The novelty of the matter is that it is a vertical scrolling martian killer in which you do not control a ship, as we said, but a knight who is walking on the ground.
The game was followed by 'The Maze of Galious', which became a side-view platformer adventure, but retained all the charm of its predecessor, and of which you have a fabulous remake available at this same page, created by Santi Ontañón 19 years ago.
THE REMAKE
Demon Videogames rolled up its head in 2015 to create its own version of the original game for Windows. And what was the result?
Well the truth is that spectacular. Keeping the essence of the original, it has beautiful high resolution graphics, to which scanlines can be applied to make the experience more retro. Along with them, music worthy of the game at hand, and perfectly measured gameplay, as Konami used to do with all his creations.
We have uploaded a video of the "gameplay" of the first levels, so that you can see for yourself.
Soon we will comment on more games from this group, which is now embarking on an ambitious project for MSXVR, Space Ranger.
